Major's Minute
This week, my husband and I attended a pre-retirement seminar at the College for Officers Training. It was a surreal feeling going back to where everything began as a cadet, a pastor in training in The Salvation Army, knowing that in several years, we will retire from active service.
Gwyn would actually hit retirement age before me. (I won't say how many!) But I may still have an opportunity to continue "working" even then. I started thinking about that. According to Webster's Dictionary, retire is to "leave one's job and cease to work, typically upon reaching the normal age for leaving employment." Whether we are officially retired or given the opportunity to work post-retirement, we never really ever "retire" as Christians.
Oh, sure, there may be more flexibility with our schedules in those days. Yet, I pray that we would still remain open to the Spirit's leading so that we can still share of His transformational love.
Colossians 3:23, NIV "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
Matthew 20:28, NIV "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Creative Arts Conference
Hello Artists, Creatives + Worship Leaders!
Get ready for the Territorial Creative Arts Conference! Our theme for this year is "Rhythms" inspired by Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
We pray that you will find rhythms of rest, growth, and grace in Jesus and through our time together.
