Church Ministries
Sunday Worship
We are a Church! Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We are motivated by the love of God, which leads us to serve the lost, vulnerable, needy, poor, hurting, helpless, and hopeless.
We meet for worship every Sunday at 11:00am preceded by various bible study classes at 10:00am. Our lively worship service usually concludes by 12:15pm and then we meet for food and fellowship. While many of us wear distinctive Salvation Army uniform identifying as committed members of the church, there is no formal dress code for our worshipers - come as you are! You are welcome!
We love to have children participate in our congregation and have nursery and junior church programs that run concurrently with our worship service.
Women’s Ministries
We have several programs providing fellowship and support for the women of our congregation and community. These include our CAMEO club, Women's Bible Study and small group fellowship. There are lots of activities included such as arts and crafts and educational and entertainment programs.
Youth Ministries
We have support and programs catering to young people ranging in age from toddlers to young adults. We provide nursery facilities during our worship services for the very youngest in families. Our Sunday School and Youth Mentoring programs give young minds a solid foundation for the challenges of life. Our older teens and young adults have opportunities to serve seniors and homeless members in our society.
Recovery Support
The Salvation Army has probably the most successful drug and alcohol rehabilitation program administered through our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs). Men who have graduated from the ARC program have the opportunity to further their recovery in our Transitional Living Program with dedicated housing assistance on our campus. We provide support and counseling as these men reconnect with their families and transition back into society.
Music Ministries
The public has a stereotypical view of our Brass Band tradition, especially at Christmas. We have a high standard of music making and have both junior and adult brass bands and choir groups that take part in our weekly worship services. We provide music instruction and instruments for members of all these groups from absolute beginners to college age music students.
Men’s Bible Study
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and can provide relevant instruction and a foundation for men in our society. We hold weekly bible study for men in a safe and highly participative environment. Especially for those in recovery this provides challenge, support and encouragement for facing the challenges of daily life. All men are welcome regardless of experience or knowledge level.
Women’s Bible Study
The women in our congregation enjoy the weekly fellowship and sharing that takes place in our women's bible study. The meetings approach the study of the word of God from a more feminine perspective gaining insight and support for the special challenges women have to deal with in everyday life. All women are welcome regardless of experience or knowledge level.
Community Care Ministry
We like to proactively visit folks who normally don’t see many visitors, especially those in rest and retirement homes. At least once a month we visit and take small gifts and spend time with them. The only qualification to participate in this ministry is a willingness to spend quality time with folks who so rarely experience it.
Pathway of Hope
The Pathway of Hope ministry focuses on the core causes of poverty rather than treating the symptoms. Lack of job opportunities, unstable housing, and an underserved educational environment can all be major challenges for someone looking to lead a self-sustainable life. With our help, people living in poverty can break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability and lead families down a path toward increased stability for years to come. It’s a pathway of hope for current and future generations.
